Renovation experience of multifamily assets strongly preferred

Job Summary: The individual in this position is accountable for the renovations and capital projects for the properties in their assigned portfolio.

Important Relationships: The Project Superintendent works to establish and maintain positive, productive relationships with everyone he or she works with, within or outside the Company.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Conduct construction reviews. • Must be able to travel. • Prepare project schedules and maintain budgets. • Administer project scopes, and negotiate contracts. • Work with others, as required, to coordinate and maintain the projects schedule and successful completion. • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry. • Experience with HVAC preferred.

Other Responsibilities: • Uphold the Steadfast Core Values and Mission Statement. • Maintain a professional image and attitude.

Required Education and Experience: • Experience in apartment industry or related industry. • Thorough understanding of construction, municipality relations, plan reading and the permitting process and procedures. • A bachelor's degree in construction management or sufficient job experience to qualify for the described position requirements preferred but is not required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Ability: • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Collaborative skills, working with diverse teams and external entities to accomplish project goals. • Demonstrated ability for multi-tasking and meeting simultaneous deadlines. • Negotiation skills. • Exceptional scheduling and organizational skills. • Budget management. • Understanding of basic and industry specific computer programs.

Consistently demonstrates the following qualities in carrying out duties and in interacting with others:

• Team player with strong work ethic, able to work with a variety of personality types. • Demonstrated leadership abilities, exhibiting confidence, professionalism and maturity. • Motivated by high level of accountability; results oriented.
